![]() You have to pay about 70 cents per month to get AdGuard to block ads on YouTube, but there is a 14 day trial. The app is only available as a separate installer on the developers website. I liked the VPN options on Opera Android. To start with, the full-featured AdGuard blocker for Android is not available on Google Play. VPN would be a pretty cool concept especially tied in or secondary option tied into InPrivate. I guess it would have to have default options settable to on and off options or to be able to delete, and still allow users to use their own third party ad blocker if they choose. Our ad blocking software offers much more than any browser extension ever could: it knows how to block all kinds of ads in all browsers and even in other apps, protecting your privacy along the way. That's the only down side to a built in ad blocker. AdGuard is the world’s first standalone ad blocker for Mac. A webpage with various ad formats, test adblockers like AdBlock, AdBlock Plus, AdBlocker Ultimate, AdGuard. If websites start locking said ad blocker you can try delete and another one instead of being tied into the single one built into the web browser. Test your Adblock with a Simple Adblocker Test. So I mostly defaulted ABP to off expect for a few websites I know that are ad filled upon launching. ![]() I don't always use it too as some websites break especially news sites telling you to turn it off. I had Ublock and found it stopped working for me on various of websites so I switched to Adblock Plus and it works fine. ![]() With extensions you can pick your ad blocker whether it's Ublock or ABP or something else. Only thing about adding a browsers own ad blocker is.you get their ad blocker whether their own version or they partner with a third party. I haven't tried on Windows in years since they went Chromium engine. The furthest I went was getting a 5 second black screen instead of an ad before videos but even that was hit-and-miss. Only so many browsers I need especially on Android. Edit- Guys :( unfortunately Im beginning to see ads slowly from yesterday and a bit more today. No, AGH doesn't block YouTube or Facebook ads because those ads are served from the same domain as the actual content. However since I use Edge for Android and Samsung Browser secondary I didn't keep Opera. It had it's own VPN (server) and there's also "Opera Mini" for android which is a mini browser that's bare bones (lightweight) like Firefox Focus (Android) is. On IoS there was an alternative front end to YouTube called Invidious which has shuttered but was FOSS so there are clones, it might be possible to set as a webapp? Only buzz I've heard though, not been hands on with the devices.ĭidn't link as I haven't read the rules here properly (sorry mods!) but it's all stuff that's on the front few pages of search engines.I've tried the Android version of Opera and it wasn't bad. Due to it not seeming any more invasive of privacy than watching the videos I'm ok with supporting the YouTubers via their sponsorship's so haven't looked into the last two. There's also a Newpipe fork with SponsorBlock built in or apparently now YouTube Vanced is another app with SB integration. Build 23511 has updated the virtual desktop switching/transition animation to be a bit smoother, as mentioned in the blog post - here's how it looks now. If you're on Android NewPipe is a good, free alternative app without served ads, you still have to listen to the in-stream plugs for Shadow Legends/NordVPN/etc. As I loosely understand it: The ads in the app were served inline with the video you're trying to stream so the DNS either doesn't pick up on them or does and you get neither the video or the ad.
